PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT the regular scheduled meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Melrose Park, Cook County, Illinois to be held on MONDAY APRIL 13th has been CANCELLED.

Easter Sunday April 12th 2020 Starting at 10 am at the corner of 37th & Soffel. The Easter Bunny will be driving throughout Melrose Park. The Easter Bunny, who is a strong advocate of social distancing, WILL NOT BE handing out candy, so please do not come out to the street. (For more information see our main page,

Due to the uncertainty of the Coronavirus and concern for people’s safety, the Village of Melrose Park has cancelled the 2020 Taste of Melrose Park.

The 2020 Hispano Fest has also been cancelled.

Although the Village Hall, Civic Center & Library are closed. 


Fire, Police and Homeland Security will be on duty 24 hours a day. 

The Public Works Department will be working normal business hours Monday through Friday from 7 to 3. Bulk Pick Up and Yard Waste Pick Up Is Temporarily Suspended – Regular Trash Day Collections Will Continue

Melrose Park Summer Camp Fun for 4 to 7 year olds is CANCELLED FOR HEALTH CONCERNS.

April 10th ALL Good Friday Events are cancelled.

April 18th Silver Creek Cleanup Event is Cancelled.

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel has closed their Food Pantry until further notice.

 Mt. Carmel church is also offering Sunday masses over Facebook live feed, contact them directly for hours and questions.

All Westlake Hospital group meetings at the Senior Building have been canceled. (Westlake Young Seniors Trips & Meetings, Westlake N/A & AA meetings.)

All parties in the Village Hall and Senior Building have been Canceled until further notice.

All Civic Center Events have been canceled  until further notice 

Senior Exercise will be canceled until further notice


Many local restaurants are open for business offering curbside pick-up and delivery options, along with meal specials. Please check with the restaurants directly for their info.

Target will reserve the first hour of shopping each Wednesday at stores nationwide for vulnerable guests- includes elderly and those with underlying health conditions.

 Jewel-Osco is asking that Tuesdays and Thursdays, between 7am and 9am, be allowed for senior shoppers to have priority shopping during this time.

School District 89 has partnered with Proviso High School District 209 to offer grab & go breakfast and lunch during emergency school closings, for more info visit:

Breakfast will be served from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and lunch will be served between 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Meals will be distributed at Door #2 at Proviso East, the Visitor Entrance at Proviso West, and the North Entrance at PMSA.
